Happy Holidays

I lost my mind,
I completely forgot it was Christmas.
Happy Holidays - whichever you celebrate.
We dont celebrate any here...

I also apologize for my lack of...
'holiday spirit' as they call it.

But I have come upon a realization.
An epiphany if you will.

There are rules.
Certain rules that you must follow.
My mother introduced me to them as a young child.
You must follow these rules to survive, in ways such as mine.
You must become familiar with them, memorize them,
they are your guide to the finish line.
And if you are familiar with any of these rules
please feel free to identify.

I have come up with a some what appropriate label for these rules:

Fruit bruises, and so do girls.

.Remember who you belong to
and keep making excuses for them.
It may hurt but they are your lifeline, and they are all you have.
.Dont beg.
Begging gets you nowhere at all. And only shows weakness.
They dont like weakness.
.Learn to make pain your anesthetic.
Please just be productive. Its understandable that you are worthless, but at least try to prove them wrong in some way.
.Always talk in metaphors and riddles when people begin to ask questions.
Become a good liar, its all you have to survive. Its all you have to prove yourself.

.And most importantly, something you must not forget
as long as you live:
Never, under any circumstance, ever ask anyone to save you.

Ischelle this is some composition.
I loved the rules... the way you arranged them and the way the preceding stanzas flow into them..

I wish these rules shatter into a new beginning...
your talent is ebbless my friend... write on my friend

Your words always touch a place deep within my soul... they remind me of my past and make me wish for a safe future for you.

You've already broken your silence, here's hoping you break a few rules next year.

Hugs,

Sara

Dear Ischelle,
Whatever your choices in life or how you choose to live it, we have the freedom of will where it is to each of us, our own.
Here's wishing you a happy new year for 2007.
Take care of yourself.

Ischelle, it amazes me how your words can wring a sort of beauty even from such harsh brutal rules. I understand you need them to survive, and hope I won't cause you any pain or trouble by remarking that they are very like those rules those who were forced to lived in concentration camps had to follow.

I hope and I pray this new year will be far better for you than the one before. Remember that there are those who wish far better for you than what you have now. I will pray for you; I wish I could do more.

Hey Ischelle,

How are you doing today? Good I hope. I noticed you don't have any links on your blog so I am not sure if you would like to take part in my new project but you are certainly invited to. Check my poetry blog for details.
